Group photo of 2017 Inspire Launch Grow finalists

After a lengthy judging process the finalists for Inspire Launch Grow 2017 have been chosen. Inspire Launch Grow is Edinburgh Research and Innovation’s showcase of entrepreneurial talent of staff and students at the University of Edinburgh. The judges had to sift through 204 pages worth of applications to find their 18 finalists!

With a record number of social enterprise businesses and with too many to choose from innovation ideas two new categories have been created: Social and Environmental Award and the Emerging Innovation Award.

Our finalists for 2017 are:

Social and Environmental Award

The Social and Environmental Award recognises those who have potential to impact and benefit local communities, environment, specific groups or society at large and can demonstrate sustainability. Winner receive £5,000 and runner-up £1,000

Emerging Innovations Award

Emerging Innovations Award show promising future potential. Winner will receive: 1,500 and runner-up £500

Innovation Cup

The Innovation Cup celebrates promising business ideas that are based on University research or innovative technologies. Winner will receive £5,000 and runner-up: £1,000

Enterprise Award

The Enterprise Award rewards entrepreneurial effort, growth ambition and innovation. The winner will receive £5,000 and runner-up: £1,000
