Ross, Debbie and Sarah

We are pleased to have welcomed three new team members in the last month, so it’s about time for some introductions!

  • Our one-month-old: Sarah Turnbull (Marketing Officer – Design and Communication)

Sarah brings a wealth of talent in marketing, and experience of recruitment, events and marketing from her previous job in the UK & EU Student Recruitment Team at Edinburgh Napier University. She has a Masters in Journalism, and will be supporting our team for six months.

Sarah describes herself as a ‘Christmas Elf’, so we’re waiting with baited breath to see our office transform into a winter wonderland. She is going to Iceland in December (that’s pretty much the North pole, right?) and is currently doing a coding course in her spare time, run by Code First for Girls.

  • Our one-week-old: Ross McLennan (Enterprise Development Executive)

Ross is our newest Enterprise Development Executive; this means he will be supporting both staff and students to turn their back-of-an-envelope ideas into fully-fledged businesses. He has ample experience in providing business formation consultancy, having previously worked as a Business Adviser for technology start-ups in the ALBA Innovation Centre, and as a Wellness and Health Innovation Adviser at Innovation Centre Scotland. When he’s not in the office he might be found orienteering, running a marathon (personal best of 2 hours 40!), or looking after his 7-month old baby. You can follow him on Twitter at @roscomcl.

In particular, Ross is passionate about supporting start-ups related to marketing, sports, health and wellbeing, so if you have a bright idea why not book an appointment with Ross or one of our other top-notch advisers today. APPOINTMENT BOOKING FORM

  • Our one-day-old: Debbie Orr (Enterprise Intern)

We first met Debbie at 3 Day Startup 2015, where she led a team to set up ‘Caledonia Wedding’, a destination wedding planning business. She enjoyed it so much that she has now come to work for us at LAUNCH.ed! Debbie has recently graduated with a degree in linguistics, and is now our Enterprise Intern. This means she will be helping with outreach into the staff and student body, with special emphasis on the promotion and delivery of events, competitions and tradeshows.

Having experienced first-hand some of our services herself and come away inspired, motivated and with loads of skills and enterprise training, she is really enthusiastic about connecting more staff and students to LAUNCH.ed. Keep an eye out for her at events and do say ‘hello’!
